  • Those are the words that describe The European luxury label MARQUES announces its debut in the world of fragrances with two scents: “Apotheosis of Hercules” and “Personification of the Moon on her Chariot”;
  • The fragrances share an intense and bold character, with notes such as oud, vanilla, dark chocolate, and exotic woods;
  • Each fragrance borrows from the arts and the label’s origin cities of Dubai and Lisbon.

 

MARQUES, The universe of MARQUES is expanding through the senses with the first two scents in its Signature collection – A selection of intense fragrances designed to be an olfactive statement and add one more dimension to the MARQUES universe. 

Each blend is inspired by destinations and art, these initial two are particularly dedicated to Dubai and Lisbon, reflecting the experiences of our founder in each of the cities. Art comes to play when looking at the past to create the future, this was the premise that guided us while researching museums and antique archives for inspiration to create each fragrance, ultimately leading us to a set of etchings from past centuries.

"We looked at the world surrounding us for inspiration and came up with two scents capable of awakening your senses and take you on a journey. Created for the bold men and women out there, each blend was designed to bring out your sensual side in different ways: one sweet and passionate, the other wild and raw." said John Marques, founder and creative behind MARQUES. 

The Personification of the Moon on her Chariot takes on the sweet and passionate dynamic with top notes of chocolate combined with coffee to stimulate your senses. Inspired by our origin city of Lisbon, it adds to the combination mid-notes of liquor and sandalwood that ultimately give room to an almond, vanilla, and caramel base. Created in 1633, the artwork that lends its name to this Eau de Parfum was originally a work of French artist Claude Mellan.

Our wilder side comes out with Apotheosis of Hercules, an olfactory translation of  the Middle Eastern metropolis and its fast paced lifestyle through signature wooden notes of oud and Brazilian rosewood at the top. Once settled down, sandalwood and vetiver will arise as the scent’s heart until the base of vanilla, amber, and tonka bean settles on the skin. Hercules himself inspired the raw strength and dominating power of this scent, as he is seen on the 1719 etching on the label by French artist Bernard Picart.

The first two Eau-de-Parfum from MARQUES Signature Scents collection are now exclusively available on the brand’s official website in 100ml format, the perfect size for everyday and travel use at 130€ each with complimentary shipping for most of the destinations around the globe.
