John A.C. Marques IV is the man behind the house carrying his family's surname.
Currently based between Lisbon and Dubai, the founder and creative leader of his namesake label was once described by Esquire Middle East as "an Authority in Luxury" due to his experience in the luxury industry for almost a decade.
Originally from a small town in the south of Portugal, Marques moved to the country's capital early in his academic life and ultimately ended in the principate of Monaco. It was in Monaco where he pursued his passion for the luxury industry with a Master's degree in the field from the International University of Monaco.
His career then started in Dubai, where Marques worked in marketing and communications at the first Arab sports car manufacturer, W Motors. The highlight from his time at the company was the last project before departing, leading the brand to participate at the Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland for the first time, along with its second sports car launch at the age of 24.
Meanwhile, on social media, his online persona gathered significant attention in the regional scene, leading to the next step in his career. This spotlight led to consulting and creative projects with many reputable brands across several fields with names such as Rolls Royce, McLaren, BMW, Christian Louboutin, MCM, Issey Miyake, Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, Etihad Airways, and many more.
Creating content and exploring his personal aesthetic, these experiences rendered him a nomination as one of the most promising content creators in the Middle East by men's lifestyle magazine Esquire Middle East.
It was while attending men's fashion week in Paris, as a content creator, that the possibility of achieving his long term dream of founding his namesake label became a reality - and that's how the man became the brand.
